1st Vistula Ulan Regiment 1-szy Pulk Ulanow Nadwislanskich They were formed on 20 March 1808 from the Cavalry Regiment of the Polish-Italian Legion. On 18 June 1811 renamed the 7th Chevaux-legers-lancier. This regiment was organized like a regiment of French chasseurs and consisted of 4 squadrons x 2 companies each. Every squadron had its flankers armed with carbines. The officers and NCOs also carried this weapon. The troopers in the first rank were armed with lances. Depot company was in Sedan (France). The total strength was 43 officers and 1000 NCOs and troopers. There was also a big number of surplus officers serving without an assignment.
